Best ‘Driving Songs’ Bleg Continued…

I never got involved in the discussion that Jerry had earlier about driving songs, but I will now throw down the gauntlet.  I must say that “Jessica” from the Allman Brothers Band’s Brothers and Sisters Album is perhaps THE best driving song I have ever heard.  By the way, there is a fantastic rendition of it from a live performance at the Cow Palace on New Year’s Eve 1973/4.

This is a pretty important album for the band because it was the first full album recorded after Duane Allman died, and to make things even more complicated, Berry Oakley died during the recording of the album.  It really represented a new direction for the band, and was, unfortunately some of their best work for quite some time.
